Full steam ahead on surveys and PPMs across the South, maintaining responsive service and supporting clients with fast-turnaround instructions.

There are some weeks where everything seems to come at once – and this has been one of them.
Over the past few days, I’ve been out on site for the majority of the week, carrying out five surveys alongside multiple Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) instructions across both Cambridge and Hertford. Alongside this, I completed a pre-lease technical due diligence and building survey of a third-floor office on Gresham Street in London.
It’s been a real mix of instructions, which is often the case in our world. From portfolio-level PPM work through to detailed pre-lease inspections, the variety keeps things interesting – and reinforces how important it is to stay adaptable, organised, and responsive. We’re currently working at pace across a portfolio of PPM instructions, while continuing to deliver a wide range of surveying services for our clients. Balancing both requires careful planning, particularly when instructions come in with tight turnaround requirements.This week has been a good example of that. We’ve had several last-minute requests come through, all needing quick mobilisation. Wherever possible, we’ve looked to accommodate these by being smart with logistics – tying in additional inspections while already working within the same geographic area.
A good example being a quick diversion into Portsmouth to inspect a reported crack, picked up en route from another instruction. It’s a small thing, but it makes a big difference to clients when you can respond quickly and efficiently. One thing this week has definitely delivered is a full range of British weather. From sunshine through to rain, wind and even hail, it’s been a reminder that surveying doesn’t stop for the elements. Working across multiple sites in different locations also highlights the geographic spread we cover as a team. From East Anglia through to London and the South Coast, it’s been a busy few days of travel, inspections, and reporting.
Weeks like this are demanding, but they’re also a good reflection of what we aim to deliver as a business. Even with a high volume of instructions and quick turnaround requirements, the focus remains the same: clear advice, thorough inspections, and a responsive service that clients can rely on. It’s also been great to see the wider team operating in the same way, with additional TDD inspections and dilapidations work being picked up alongside this week’s workload.
